Schlumberger, the world's No.1 oilfield services company, agreed to buy oilfield equipment provider Cameron in a dealvalued at $14.8 billion.
Cameron shareholders will get $66.36 - $14.44 in cash and0.716 of a Schlumberger share - for each share held, a premiumof 56.3 percent to Cameron's Tuesday close.
** TRANSOCEAN LTD, Tuesday close $12.2, -2.46 pctpremarket
The world's largest offshore driller said it wasplanning to cancel dividend installments while potentiallytaking writedowns of more than 2 billion Swiss francs ($2.12billion). The company's Swiss-listed shares fell 12.3 percent to10.70 francs at 0710 GMT in Zurich.
