TechMARK movers: Slippage hits Vislink

Tue, 08th Dec 2009 14:29
Broadcast technology supplier Vislink says that its full year profits for 2009 will be lower than forecast. Expected contracts have failed to come to fruition by the end of the financial year and there has been slippage in existing work. The revenue shortfall will be between £5m and £7.5m. That will sharply reduce reported profits. Revenues of around £95m had been forecast for 2009 and the estimated has been cut to £89.2m. The profit forecast has been cut from £7.1m to £4.9m. The marine and energy CCTV operations are trading in line with expectations. Order intake continues to increase. The law enforcement operations are growing orders at the fastest rate but news and entertainment orders are also growing strongly. UK operations have been consolidated on one site. Vislink is reducing its costs and is confident of prospects in 2010. Management believes the order book underpins the current forecasts for 2010. The share price fall means that the shares are trading at just over seven times estimated earnings for 2009. Printing technology developer Domino Printing's results were more positive. It achieved the 31st consecutive year of growth. Although revenues were relatively flat at £256.1m, pre-tax profits improved from £25.2m to £28m in the year to October 2009. Underlying profit edged up from £35.3m to £35.7m. The total dividend was increased by 10% to 13.02p a share. Net cash is £29.1m. Management says that operating efficiency has improved and Domino has a full programme of new product developments.
