(Alliance News) - Spectral MD Holdings Ltd on Monday said it has received ISO 13485 certification for the manufacture and distribution of its artificial intelligence-driven DeepView wound imaging system.

Spectral is a London-based artificial intelligence company focused on medical diagnostics for wound care treatment.

The company explained that its DeepView wound imaging system is designed to provide immediate, accurate, and binary wound treatment assessments for burn and diabetic foot ulcer indications.

Spectral said ISO 13485 is an internationally recognised standard that ensures the quality of medical device design, development, and production. It noted that to receive certification, organisations must demonstrate that their quality management systems deliver medical devices and related services that consistently meet stringent customer and regulatory requirements.

Chief Operating Officer Niko Pagoulatos said: "The receipt of ISO 13485 confirms Spectral MD's status as a global provider of medical devices that meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety."

Shares in Spectral were up 1.7% to 52.35 pence each in London on Monday morning.
