AIM WINNERS & LOSERS: Sigma Capital hits record high on takeover deal

Fri, 11th Jun 2021 10:52

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers on AIM in London on Friday.

----------

AIM - WINNERS

----------

Sigma Capital Group PLC, up 35% at 200.56 pence, 12-month range 84.72p-202p. Hits this 12-month high earlier on Friday, which is also the stock's all-time high. Agrees to be taken over by funds managed by PineBridge Benson Elliot LLP, in a deal worth GBP188.4 million. The build-to-rent housing provider's shareholders will receive 202.1 pence per share in cash, representing a premium of 36% to Sigma's closing price on Thursday. PineBridge Benson Elliot is a pan-European real estate private equity specialist, with USD3.2 billion of managed equity.

----------

Warpaint London PLC, up 15% at 160.89p, 12-month range 62p-163p. Hits this 12-month high earlier on Friday. The cosmetics firm says trading in year-to-date encouraging, and particularly pleased with UK performance. Says UK sales of its brands for first five months of year up 64% on 2020 and up 18% on 2019, with growth in 27 sales helped by roll-out in Tesco PLC shares. "I am optimistic that these positive trends will continue and with cash today of approximately GBP6.6 million and no debt, I believe we are well placed to deliver profitable future growth," says Chair Clive Garston.

----------

AIM - LOSERS

----------

UK SPAC PLC, down 12% at 0.24p, 12-month range 0.21p-1.2p. The cash shell withdraws application for secondary listing on AQSE Growth Market.

----------

Frontier Developments PLC, down 6.9% at 2,447.71p, 12-month range 1,672p-3,470p. The videogames developer and publisher guides to revenue of GBP130 million to GBP150 million for its 2022 financial year. This "prudently assumes" its F1 2022 management game is released early in the 2023 financial year as opposed to late in the 2022 year. AJ Bell investment director Russ Mould notes that the 2022 financial year revenue consensus figure for Frontier was GBP146 million. "That's partly down to expectations that its F1 management game may be pushed back to the 2023 financial year. Given the disappointment associated with the latest Elite game, it's prudent that Frontier doesn't rush release any more releases," said Mould.
