(Sharecast News) - Budget carrier Ryanair said passenger numbers slumped 95% in February year on year, as Covid-19 pandemic travel bans hammered the business.
Passenger volumes in February plunged to 0.5 million, down from 10.5 million in February 2020.
On a rolling annual basis, the airline said it carried 32.7m passengers compared with 153.8m a year ago. Ryanair operated around 6% of its normal February schedule with a 78% load factor.

Ryanair notes that this April was hurt by strikes by French air traffic controllers, resulting in more than 650 flights with 118,000 passengers being cancelled, while April last year was hurt by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Load factor last month was 94%, up from 91% a year before and 93% from March. On a rolling 12-month basis, Ryanair carried 170.3 million passengers in April, up 55% from 110.2 million a year before. Load factor for the 12 months improved to 94% from 83%.
