HOUSTON, Jan 14 (Reuters) - California gasoline was steadyin the Los Angeles wholesale market on Tuesday on work at threeof the state's refineries, traders said.
January-delivery CARBOB gasoline in L.A. was discounted 10cents a gallon under February NYMEX RBOB gasoline. In the SanFrancisco Bay market held at 17.5 cents a gallon under FebruaryRBOB gasoline.
Chevron Corp.'s 269,000 barrel per day (bpd) ElSegundo, California continued its recovery from an equipmentbreakdown over the weekend, according to notices the company hasfiled with regulators.
Royal Dutch Shell Plc's 156,400 bpd Martinez,California, refinery was performing planned maintenance, acompany spokeswoman said.
Also performing planned maintenance was Phillips 66's 139,000 bpd Wilmington, California refinery, the company said.
CARBOB gasoline is mandated by the California Air ResourcesBoard (CARB) for use in the state and meets more stringentanti-pollution standards than the gasoline required by the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency in most of the country. CARBOBis made to blend with ethanol.
January L.A. CARB diesel was also steady in a bid-offerspread of 7 cents/6 cents under February NYMEX heating oil. Baymarket CARB diesel was offered at a 5-cent discount to NYMEXheating oil.
CARB also requires a state-specific, ultra-low-sulfur dieselwith a more stringent formula than EPA diesel.
