FRANKFURT, Nov 5 (Reuters) - A flash fire earlier on Tuesdayat the German Godorf Rhineland refinery operated by Shell injured two people but did not affect production, thecompany said in a statement.
The brief, intense fire broke out in an underground interimstorage unit for refinery products, the company said. The twoinjured contract workers were transferred to hospitals byambulance and helicopter.
"There has been no impact outside the refinery fences or onproduction," said Shell.
The cause of the blast and the way it developed before itwas brought under control were now under investigation by anexternal surveyor in coordination with the authorities, it said.
