HOUSTON, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Motiva Enterprises wasrestarting the Naphtha Processing Complex on Friday at its603,000 barrel per day (bpd) Port Arthur, Texas, followingrepairs that began after a Jan. 27 breakdown, said sourcesfamiliar with plant operations.
Motiva plans to complete work on and restart 49,000-bpdCatalytic Reforming Unit 4 at the Port Arthur Refinery nextweek, which was shut as part of a multi-unit overhaul, thesources said.
The second-largest crude distillation unit - 195,000 bpdVPS-4 - at the Port Arthur refinery, also shut as part of thesame overhaul involving CRU 4, is scheduled to restart in thethird week of February, the sources said.
A Motiva spokesman declined to talk about the status ofspecific units at the Port Arthur Refinery.
"Various planned maintenance activities are still underwayat Motiva Port Arthur Refinery," said company spokesman RayFisher. "Units may be coming back online as maintenance iscompleted."
The naphtha complex, which includes the 115,000-bpd naphthahydrotreater, an 85,000-bpd reformer and a 50,000-bpdisomerization unit, was shut to allow repairs to a leakingheater tube in the hydrotreater, sources told Reuters.
Motiva began the planned overhaul of VPS-4, the reformer anda 54,000-bpd coker and ancillary units in the last week ofDecember. The units are expected to restart between mid-Februaryand early March.
The overhaul was rescheduled four times since February 2014until enough contract workers would be available to carry outthe work. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by James Dalgleish)
