HOUSTON, March 1 (Reuters) - The second-largest crudedistillation unit and a catalytic reforming unit were nearingfull production on Tuesday at Motiva Enterprises 603,000 barrel per day Port Arthur, Texas, refinery for thefirst time since late December, sources familiar with plantoperations said.
The units were among several shut in late December for aplanned overhaul at the Port Arthur refinery, which is thenation's largest.
The 195,000-bpd CDU, called VPS-4, restarted last week andwas operating at minimal rates. The 49,000-bpd CRU was awaitingthe ramp-up of VPS-4 before resuming production. The crude unitincreased production overnight, the sources said. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Bernard Orr)
