EXECUTIVE CHANGES: Nuformix responds to "frustration" as CEO departs

Thu, 22nd Jul 2021 14:29

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Thursday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

Nuformix PLC - London-based pharmaceutical firm focused on fibrosis and oncology - Non-Executive Chair Alastair Riddell writes a letter to shareholders to address the "frustration and confusion" that followed Wednesday's announcement that Anne Brindley will depart as chief executive officer, having only joined Nuformix in December. Prior to Nuformix, Brindley was CEO of Advent Pharmaceuticals Pty Ltd, a Melbourne-based research and development company focused on generic inhaled products. Riddell says Brindley received a "significant job offer she could not refuse from previous colleagues – it is no reflection on Nuformix or her view of the opportunities in the Nuformix pipeline". Brindley will continue to push forward the company's three pipeline assets for NXP002, NXP004 and NXP001 during the six-month notice period. "All these projects are proceeding according to plan towards the inflection points previously communicated and all activities will continue to be progressed," Riddell says.

----------

AstraZeneca PLC - Cambridge, England-based biopharmaceutical firm - Appoints Andreas Rummelt as non-executive director. Rummelt had been a board member of Alexion Pharmaceuticals Inc since 2010. Astra completed the USD39 billion acquisition of Boston, Massachusetts-based Alexion on Wednesday. In his executive career, Rummelt was head of Technical Operations & Quality at Novartis AG. At the same time, Alexion CFO Aradhana Sarin moves to Astra as CFO and joins the board as an executive director.

----------

Sensyne Health PLC - Oxford, England-based clinical technology using artificial intelligence - Hires David Ruau into newly created role of chief scientific officer, starting September 1. Ruau joins from Germany's Bayer AG, where has been head of Global Data Assets & Decision Science since 2017. Prior to Bayer, Ruau was head of Scientific Computing Solutions at AstraZeneca.

----------

Getech Group PLC - Leeds-based provider of geoscience data and software to energy industry - Hires Emma Parker-Wilson as non-executive director, effective immediately and replacing Chris Flavel, who retires from the board. Parker-Wilson is principal in charge of Sustainable Business Opportunities at miner Anglo American PLC.

----------

LPA Group PLC - Saffron Walden, Essex-based LED lighting, electronic and electro-mechanical system designer and manufacturer - Confirms Peter Pollock will retire as chair and director from August 8, having served LPA for 24 years as chief executive and then executive chair. Recent board appointee Robert Horvath becomes independent chair.

----------

Valereum Blockchain PLC - Gibraltar-based blockchain technology builder - Patrick Young joins board as executive director, effective immediately. Young will help Valereum build the Valereum Bridge, a non-fungible-token bespoke securities financial platform aimed at linking government-issued currencies with cypto currencies. Young is author of a book on fintech and is former chair of the Blockchain Malta Association.

----------

Supply@Me Capital PLC - London-based inventory monetisation platform - Non-Executive Chair Dominic White steps down as director, effective Thursday, "to focus on his other business interests". A search for successor is underway.

----------

Providence Resources PLC - Barryroe oil and gas project offshore Ireland - Hires Peter Newman as senior independent director and Ann-Marie O'Sullivan as director, starting at the end of Thursday's annual general meeting. Newman was global head of Oil & Gas at accountants Deloitte and prior to that held a similar regional role at peer Arthur Andersen. O'Sullivan is public relations professional who has held board positions with Dublin Airport Authority and Cork Chamber of Commerce. The Barryroe project is in the Atlantic Ocean south of Cork.
