SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: Hostelworld rises as bookings surge

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Tuesday.

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

OTAQ PLC, up 13% at 15.78 pence, 12-month range 12.37p-44.00p. The marine technology company signs a deal with a "leading" salmon & sea trout producer in Chile. The Lancaster-based producer of marine technology for offshore oil and gas industries will supply water quality monitoring technology to Salmones Antartica SA, a company based on the southern Chilean island of Chiloe. OTAQ's technology "monitors a site's oxygen, temperature and salinity levels to provide aquaculture farmers with immediate information about the quality of their water environment." The companies did not disclose financial details of the agreement.

Hostelworld Group PLC, up 2.1% at 93.90p, 12-month range 57.00p-109.60p. The online booking platform says it has seen a "strong recovery" back to pre-pandemic levels, as June bookings to southern Europe exceed 2019 levels. The Dublin-based firm says that June bookings reached 80% of June 2019 levels, leading to revenue just above pre-pandemic levels. Hostelworld explained that the revenue recovery driven by higher average booking values. Hostelworld notes a continued recovery in all destinations and demand segments, with booking demand in southern Europe exceeding levels seen before the pandemic.

Restaurant Group PLC, up 0.6% at 44.46p, 12-month range 41.34p-130.20p. The Wagamama and Frankie & Benny's owner says it has acquired Mexican restaurant chain Barburrito Group Ltd for GBP7 million and that it has made an early repayment of its term-loan facilities. The casual dining chain operator also maintains its previous guidance for expected profit and loss interest charge at GBP24 million to GBP25 million.

abrdn European Logistics Income PLC, down 3.2% at 96.60pp, 12-month range 95.40p-130.00p. RBC Capital downgrades the Europe-focused logistical real estate investor to 'sector perform' from 'outperform' as part of a downbeat sector note.
