Motive Television reveals new 4G video content solution

Mon, 29th Oct 2012 08:35

Motive Television, a London-based television software and services company, has unveiled its new solution which enables video content to be more evenly distributed to wireless devices over peak and off-peak periods to even out the demand place of 4G wireless networks. The new technology is currently at the proof of concept stage, and is expected to move to trial at the beginning of next year. The firm believes its new solution will give 4G mobile users access to a huge library of video on demand content while also reducing congestion, thereby improving the overall user experience. When mobile viewers request a download of content, Motive's solution manages delivery by reserving a scheduled off-peak timeslot for delivery on the network which optimises network bandwidth for more efficient video delivery. Leonard Fertig, the Chief Executive Officer of Motive, said: "Motive has developed industry-leading expertise in managing the delivery of on-demand content across all types of networks; digital terrestrial, satellite, cable, and IP. "Our new solution for 4G mobile networks is a good example of how Motive can apply its specialist knowhow to enable its clients to deliver content more efficiently within the constraints of existing capacity and networks. It has the potential to provide very large savings to wireless network providers of video content and a better experience for consumers on a global basis."NR
