(Sharecast News) - Healthcare services group Mediclinic International said South Africa's competition appeal court had cleared its purchase of a controlling stake in Matlosana Medical Health Services.
The acquisition includes two multi-disciplinary hospitals with a total of 147 beds and includes a 51% share in the 50-bed Parkmed Neuro Clinic psychiatric hospital. All are based in Klerksdorp in the North-West Province of South Africa.
Mediclinic started the acquisition process in 2015. Following various approval processes, the matter was referred to the Competition Appeal Court which has now ruled in favour of the acquisition, with an expected effective date around the middle of 2020, the company said on Friday.
