LONDON, Sept 17 (Reuters) - Lloyds shares wereamong the worst-performing stocks on Britain's blue-chip FTSE100 index on Tuesday after the UK kickstarted the saleof its stake in the part-nationalised lender.
Lloyds shares were down by 1.6 percent at 76.14 pence by0705 GMT, underperforming the FTSE 100, which was down by 0.2percent. The stock was also among the four worst-performingstocks on the FTSE 100.
The fall in Lloyds shares reflected the placing price of 75pence per share set by Britain for the sale of a 6 percent stakein the bank. (Reporting by Sudip Kar-Gupta)
