Kin & Carta PLC - London-based business consultancy - Expects net revenue for financial 2023 ending on July 31 to be flat to about 2% higher compared to the year before. Says the revised financial year net revenue guidance reflects recent currency movements, which result in net revenue headwinds in the second quarter GBP3 million, compared to the previous market forecast. Says the backlog for financial 2024 continues to build and is now GBP133 million, compared to GBP105 million a year ago.

Kin & Carta PLC - London-based business consultancy - Acquires data service provider Forecast Data for up to GBP13.1 million. Says it will pay an initial consideration of GBP3 million. Additionally, Kin & Carta will pay an earn-out vesting over 29 months based on earnings growth for Forecast Data through to September 30, 2024. Up to 75% of the earn out payable in Kin & Carta shares. The total purchase price is capped at GBP13.1 million. Forecast Data is being bought from Founder Neil MacDonald, Jennifer MacDonald, and a small group of senior managers, who will continue to work for the company.

IN BRIEF: Kin & Carta interim loss widens but sees better days ahead

Kin & Carta PLC - London-based business consultancy - Posts net revenue of GBP98.7 million for the six months that ended on January 31, up 15% from GBP85.6 million a year before driven by acquisitions and currency effects. Net loss before tax, however, widens to GBP15.1 million from GBP3.3 million, as operating loss widens to GBP14.7 million from GBP2.6 million. Adds that the net loss is driven by net adjusting cost items of GBP32.7 million, as well as difficult trading conditions. Looking ahead, expects organic growth and profitability to improve in the second half. Expects total net revenue growth of 8% to 12% in financial 2023, but a low-single-digit percentage decline in organic net revenue. "We expect a return to more normal growth and profitability in FY24," it says.

Says like-for-like net revenue was down 6% in total with a 1% decline in America and a 16% decline in Europe, driven by "particularly difficult trading conditions in the UK". Expects net revenue in the second half to grow 8% to 12% over the first half, with higher operating margin. Adjusted operating margin in H1 is in line with the prior period at around 8% with H2 expected to be stronger. Kin & Carta says its medium term guidance of 15% net revenue growth and adjusted earnings before interest, tax, appreciation margins in the mid-to-high teens remains unchanged.
