UK EXECUTIVE CHANGE SUMMARY: Two Co-Founders Leave Arix Bioscience

Mon, 06th Apr 2020 15:47

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Monday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

Arix Bioscience PLC - Non-Executive Director Naseem Amin promoted to executive chair, as two co-founders of the biotech-focused venture capital firm depart. Chair Jonathan Peacock and Chief Executive Officer Joe Anderson, both co-founders, leave. They are joined by Non-Executive Director Art Pappas and two other members of the senior executive team. Arix said the changes at the top were to "right-size" the company as it shifts to value realisation from its current portfolio. Amin has served as chief scientific officer at Smith & Nephew PLC.

----------

John Lewis of Hungerford PLC - Hires Alan Charlton and Stephen Huggett as non-executive directors, while James Barnard steps down, all immediately. Managing Director Kiran Noonan remains acting chair until an independent non-executive chair is appointed by the kitchen and bedroom furniture firm. Charlton was finance director of clothing retailer Austin Reed until 2016. Huggett is an accountant who acted as head of finance for John Lewis of Hungerford for three years until May 2019.

----------

SEC Newgate SpA - Hires Sergio Penna as group financial officer, replacing Federico Vecchio, who is stepping down as chief financial officer for personal reasons. Penna joins on June 1 and Vecchio departs on June 30. Penna was most recently finance manager for MotorK, an Italian company that provide technology services to the car industry. SEC Newgate said it had started the current financial year well, with a healthy level of new business wins, but now expects future activity to be hurt by the Covid-19 health crisis.

----------

Medica Group PLC - Mike Berwick to step down as non-executive director at May 20 annual general meeting.

----------

Altus Strategies PLC - Karim Nasr joins board as a non-executive director. Nasr is CEO of La Mancha Holding Sarl, a 35% share holder in Altus following its subscription in February, injecting CAD11.2 million into Altus, a London and Toronto listed mining royalty firm.

----------

Jersey Oil & Gas PLC - Hires Chris Haynes as board adviser. Haynes was responsible for delivery of major upstream projects for Royal Dutch Shell PLC before retiring in 2011 after 39 years with the oil major.
