Shares in Imagination Technologies have fallen back following the graphics chip designer's full year figures even though profits were ahead of expectations. Licensing revenues were better than expected although royalties were below forecast levels. There was still underlying growth in royalties of 68%. Overall revenues of £80.9m in the year to April 2010 were slightly lower than expectations. Even though the Pure digital radio business lost money, Imagination reported earnings before tax of £13.6m, which was higher than Panmure Gordon's forecast of £12m. Costs were kept well under control. Panmure Gordon forecasts earnings per share will more than double to 9.26p this year. That still means the shares are trading on more than 30 times prospective earnings. Education technology supplier RM has risen following yesterday's news that it had been chosen to provide managed IT services for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham's BSF (Building Schools for the Future) programme. The contract should be worth up to £44m over eight years.
