Shares in AIM-listed Nighthawk Energy rose on Tuesday after the US-focused oil development and production company reported that oil production at Arikaree Creek exceeded 1,000 barrels per day.In a production update covering the group's 100%-controlled and operated smoky Hill and Jolly Ranch projects in the Denver-Julesburg Basin in Colorado, the company reported that the Taos 1-10 well, located on the Arikaree Creek oil field, had commenced production on June 14th.Initial production rates since coming on stream were in the range of 400-to-500 barrels of oil per day (b/d) with no water production, the company said. Production from the Steamboat Hansen 8-10 and Big Sky 4-11 wells, also located on the Arikaree Creek oilfield, was continuing at a combined rate of around 700 b/d with no water production and the company said that additional producing wells locate on the Jolly Ranch project were currently contributing approximately 60-80 b/day in total.Total production from all producing wells had averaged at over 1,200 b/day over the four days since the Taos 1-10 came on-stream. Nighthawk Energy's share price was up 8.27% to 5.89p at 09:57 on Tuesday.MF
