GAN Hires Permanent Finance Chief To Help Progress US Listing Plans

Mon, 13th Jan 2020 09:55

(Alliance News) - Gambling software firm GAN PLC said Monday it has hired Karen Flores as chief financial officer, with immediate effect.

GAN was looking for a new finance chief following the departure of Richard Santiago in the third quarter of 2019, after having only taken up the CFO role in June 2018.

In May of last year, when announcing Santiago's exit, GAN appointed Rey del Valle as CFO-designate. Now the role is being handed to Flores full time.

"We are pleased to welcome Karen to our leadership team as we continue working toward obtaining a US listing as soon as reasonably practical," said GAN Chief Executive Dermot Smurfit.

In her role, Flores will be responsible for finance, strategic planning, treasury, tax & accounting and will be based at the Company's offices in Irvine, California.

Flores brings 20 years of financial management, capital markets and operational experience in both public and private technology companies, GAN said.

Most recently, she served as vice president of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis at Alorica Inc, a provider of customer experience and call centre outsourcing solutions.

Prior to this, Flores served as senior vice president of Finance at Maker Studios Inc, leading the company through a multi-year period of growth with revenues increasing from USD2 million to over USD200 million, before finally being acquired by Walt Disney Co for USD675 million in 2014.

Flores also has held financial positions at MySpace Music, Napster, and Microsoft Corp.

Smurfit continued: "With two decades of financial management and operational experience at entertainment and technology companies, Karen has managed the finance function of companies with substantial revenues and gained highly relevant corporate transactional experience.

"We believe Karen's experience and skillset will prove invaluable to our financial and strategic planning as our business growth continues to accelerate. The entire leadership team at GAN looks forward to working closely with Karen who will be a critical part in helping us achieve both short- and long-term goals."

Shares in GAN were 2.0% higher in London on Monday at 175.00 pence each.
