Futura Medical Launches Erection-Enhancing Condom In Benelux

Thu, 09th Oct 2014 09:15

LONDON (Alliance News) - Futura Medical PLC Thursday said it has launched its erection-enhancing CSD500 condom under the Blue Diamond brand in Belgium and the Netherlands.

The condom is lined with a gel that the company promises will increase blood flow to the male member, giving bigger, firmer erections and a longer lasting sexual experience for women. The marketing claims have been approved by EU regulators.

It expects to launch the condom in several countries in the second half of this year, and continue the rollout in 2015 and beyond. It has spent recent months arranging distribution and licensing deals covering key countries and regions, most recently inking an exclusive licensing agreement with Kwang Dong Pharmaceutical Co Ltd for the marketing and distribution of the condom in South Korea.

In a statement Thursday, the company said the condom was being launched at a press conference in the Netherlands, hosted by its Benelux distribution partner Bizzy Diamond BV.

"The product is being marketed under Futura's Blue Diamond brand and will be available online from a dedicated website serving these countries. We believe that the potential for online marketing of CSD500 is significant and we will gain valuable insights from this initial launch to inform the future rollout of the product," Future Chief executive James Barder said in a statement.

Futura Medical shares were up 1.5% at 49.38 pence Thursday morning.
