In its passenger statistics for June 2015, budget airline Fastjet said it carried 23% more passenger compared with a year earlier.Operations in Tanzania carried a total of 65,216 passengers compared with 53,232 in 2015, with a load factor of 69%, down slightly from 79% last year. The load factor measures how the full the plane is.Chief executive Ed Winter said: "am delighted to report another month of strong year on year growth in numbers of passengers carried. This is particularly pleasing given the fact that June incorporated Ramadan, a period that reduces demand considerably."During the month we also introduced a new route linking Dar es Salaam, Tanzania with Lilongwe, Malawi and early sales are encouraging."At 10:23, Fastjet shares were up 0.5% at 95.50p.
