Robust progress continues at Ensor

Shares of building materials supplier Ensor surged after it posted a sharp rise in profit for the year, upped its dividend and said it is well positioned to make further progress in this new financial year.Profit before tax rose to £813,000 in the year ended 31 March 2011 compared to £256,000 a year earlier. Revenue increased to £21.4m from £19.4m previously."This organic growth is particularly pleasing as it is against a background of continued recessionary pressures and an uncertain construction industry, " Ensor said in a company statement.Cash of £1.2m was generated over the year compared to £1.1m in 2010. The group is debt free. "We are financially well placed to take advantage of appropriate business or acquisition opportunities, when they arise, to strengthen the group," it said.A final dividend of 0.35p per share has been offered.CJ
