Electrocomponents appoints David Egan as group FD

(ShareCast News) - Electrocomponents has appointed David Egan as group finance director with effect from 1 March next year.Egan was formerly FD of specialty chemicals company Alent and held roles at ESAB Holdings and Hanson.Electrocomponents said he has extensive experience in business transformation through performance improvement and M&A and has worked in Asia as well as Europe, the US and Australia.He is currently a non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee at Tribal Group.Chief executive officer Lindsley Ruth said: "He has highly relevant international experience and an excellent track record implementing transformational change in global industrial businesses.In his most recent role as group finance director of Alent, a global FTSE 250 company, David worked with a similar customer base to our own, led a major efficiency improvement initiative and created significant shareholder value."
