SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: Equinti gets Siris bid; Renewi ups outlook

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Thursday.

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Equiniti, up 8.1% at 182.09 pence, 12-month range 96.00p-184.00p. The outsourcer hits new 12-month high on Thursday, after accepting a takeover bid from Siris Capital. Equiniti received a 180p per share offer from Earth Private Holdings, a newly formed company owned by funds managed or advised by Siris Capital. The takeover bid values Equiniti at GBP673 million on a fully diluted basis, Siris said. Equiniti currently has a market capitalisation of GBP668.7 million.

Renewi, up 3.0% at 54.60p, 12-month range 18.24p-56.40p. The waste-to-products firm upgrades its expectations for the year ending March 31, 2022. For the year just gone, revenue falls 4.6% to EUR1.69 billion but it swings to a pretax profit of EUR18.2 million from a EUR59.4 million loss. It expects results for the new year to be "materially ahead" of prior expectations.

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

De La Rue, down 5.5% at 182.35p, 12-month range 40.50p-214.94p. The banknote and tax stamps manufacturer extends losses from Wednesday, when it closed down 4.0%. On Wednesday, De La Rue said pretax profit for the year ended March 27 fell sharply to GBP9.9 miillion from GBP36.1 million. Revenue from customer contracts dropped 16% to GBP397.4 million from GBP472.1 million.
