Tue, 27th May 2014 07:56

Surveillance technologies provider Digital Barriers has secured a contract to supply its TVI high definition surveillance technology to a US federal law enforcement agency for 1.2m dollars.Additional sales with the same customer and other law enforcement agencies are now expected from what the firm described as the first "material sale" of its brand new capability. The group's TVI solution delivers real-time video and is ideally suited for wireless networks, with the contract expected to be fulfilled this financial year. The firm's TVI surveillance has been sold into more than 30 countries with customers from defence and security organisations. The group has recently launched a wider suite of products, including high-definition video, IP video and software that runs on third-party devices such as smartphones and tablets.Executive Chairman Tom Black said: "TVI is one of our flagship technologies and this first material sale of our brand new capability, real-time streaming of full high-definition video across wireless networks, is a huge step forward for us. "Our HD surveillance products, as well as those for IP cameras and for use on smartphones and tablets, are generating significant customer interest and traction around the world. "This contract award validates our product strategy and investments and also illustrates the trusted position we have achieved in a relatively short period of time with some of the most forward-thinking law enforcement and defence customers around the world."As of 08:22 the share price had risen by 1.2% to 112p.WS
