Cable & Wireless appoints former Pearson CFO to its board

(ShareCast News) - Cable & Wireless Communications has appointed former Pearson chief financial officer Robin Freestone to its board.Freestone was the CFO of Pearson from 2006 up until August 2015, and deputy CFO prior to that.The telco said Freestone would be a non-executive director from 17 August, and would become a member of the audit, nomination and remuneration committee.Meanwhile, Ian Tyler will retire as a non-executive director and his role as chairman of the audit committee with effect from 30 September 2015.Shares in the telco were up by 0.75% to 62.77p at 1257 BST.
