LONDON (Alliance News) - AIM-listed Corero Network Security PLC on Tuesday said it has received an order worth more than USD400,000 for its SmartWall Threat Defense System from a US hosting provider.
The cyber security company said the order is its largest single hosting-provider deployment to date.
Corero did not name the US hosting provider in question.
The company said the order follows a successful trial in which it was able to demonstrate the effectiveness of having in-line, real-time distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection delivered by the defense system.
When a DDoS attack takes place, the targeted server may crash or go offline, resulting in serious disruption to organisations with an online presence.
"This hosting provider customer order is a strong endorsement of Corero's view of the commercial opportunity in the important and growing hosting provider market. Being able to demonstrate the efficacy, performance and scalability of the Corero SmartWall TDS against the competition, through a successful POC, was critical for this very important contract win for Corero," Chief Executive Ashley Stephenson said.
