(Alliance News) - AIM-listed Concurrent Technologies PLC on Tuesday said it has launched TR AEx/3sd-RCx, its first artificial intelligence accelerator engine.
The computer boards manufacturer said the engine has been developed to meet the specific challenges of applications such as battlefield defence, surveillance and energy exploration markets.
TR AEx/3sd-RCx, which is used in conjunction with other Concurrent processor boards, employs artificial intelligence techniques to enable real-time processing of external data from optical, radio frequency and other sensors at the point of data collection. This, the company said, enhances vital tactical operations such as immediate object recognition, behaviour monitoring and target acquisition.
"This new artificial intelligence accelerator engine marks an exciting step for Concurrent Technologies, demonstrating our ability to innovate and provide more proactive solutions to problems and meet the demands of challenging markets," said Managing Director Jane Annear.
She added: "Our objective is to provide solutions based around our existing processor board products and this is a significant step forward."
Concurrent shares were trading 10% higher in London on Tuesday at 93.00 pence each.
