Cigarette vending machine maker Molins does not seem to be suffering unduly from the effects of the smoking ban in the UK, with trading since the company's interim results announcement in late August remaining in line with expectations.Performance in the Tobacco Machinery and Scientific Services divisions have continued the better than expected performance seen in the first half of the company's financial year but trading conditions remain tough for the Packaging Machinery division, with no visible signs of improvement.Jeweller Abbeycrest moved into profit in the six months to August 31 despite seeing a fall in revenues.The company, which specialises in gold, gemset and silver jewellery, posted a pre-tax profit of £1.26m compared with a loss of £2.21m over the same period the previous year, even as revenues fell to £17.85m from £23.53m.Agriterra, which operates in the agricultural sector in central and southern Africa, has raised $5.1bn to expand its beef ranching operations.It placed 63.95m shares at 5p a time.Iron castings supplier Chamberlin said its full year results will be below expectations after demand for heavy castings continued to fall.
