Ceramic Fuel Cells (CFC) secured a contract for its combined heat and power (CHP) generation equipment as it welcomed a move by Germany to support the technology. The group said it would supply fuel cell parts for 40 CHP units to heating system maker Ideal Heating as part of an EU-funded project. It provided parts for 40 BlueGen units last year for installation in German and British homes and has now supplied parts for 40 more to Ideal Heating's factory in Hull.CFC also said the German state of Hesse had approved subsidies for BlueGen micro power plants, with the first one to enter service this week and more to follow.CFC Managing Director Bob Kennett said: "Within a matter of months, both Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia have decided to actively support fuel cells. The subsidies in Hesse are another relevant step towards successfully penetrating the national markets in Germany." PW
