UK EXECUTIVE CHANGE SUMMARY: EQTEC Confirms Ex-AB InBev Exec As COO

Tue, 01st Dec 2020 13:52

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Tuesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

EQTEC PLC - Cork, Ireland-based gasification technology for waste-to-value projects - Appoints Interim Chief Operating Officer Jeff Vander Linden as strategy & operations director and COO, a new board-level position. Had joined EQTEC in July, having previously been global director of Strategy & Demand for Global Business Services at brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev NV. "The COO role is critical for EQTEC as we transition from a growing innovation leader to a high-growth, multi-market technology leader," says Chief Executive Officer David Palumbo.

----------

CPPGroup PLC - Leeds-based products and services for financial services and insurance sectors - Chair Richard Lapthorne to retire on January 31, having been in post since May 2016. Promotes Non-Executive Director David Morrison to chair, having joined the board last month. Morrison is the founder of Prospect Investment Management and represents Hamish Ogston, CPP's founder and largest shareholder. "When Sir Richard was appointed as chairman, CPP Group was facing a collapse in the renewability of its UK back book with no sight of a sustainable ongoing business to replace it, and a continued focus on historical issues," comments Chief Executive Jason Walsh. "Without the full support of the board under Sir Richard's leadership the positive progress we have made would not have been possible."

----------

Miton UK MicroCap Trust PLC - Hires Bridget Guerin as an independent non-executive director and chair-designate, joining the board Tuesday. Guerin will replace Andy Pomfret as chair when he retires at the annual general meeting scheduled for September next year. Guerin was a non-executive director of wealth manager Charles Stanley Group PLC for eight years before stepping down in September. She currently is chair of Schroder Income Growth Fund PLC and a non-executive director of Invesco Perpetual UK Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC and Mobeus Income & Growth VCT PLC.

----------

Polar Capital Global Financials Trust PLC - invests globally in banking, insurance, property and other financial stocks - Appoints George Barrow as joint fund manager alongside Nick Brind and John Yakas, effective Tuesday. "George has a particular focus on European financials although is involved in all areas of the sector," comments Chair Robert Kyprianou.

----------

Total Produce PLC - Dublin-based fresh produce supplier - Seamus Taaffe will resign as non-executive director at the end of 2020, having served since 2012. Total Produce says the change facilitates orderly board succession.

----------

Tower Resources PLC - Africa-focused oil and gas - Mark Enfield joins board as an independent non-executive director, effective immediately. Enfield is CEO of Geoscience at geoscience and geophysical consultants EPI Group and has been an advisor to the Tower Resources board for more than five years. Meanwhile, Peter Taylor, a company founder, will step down as non-executive director on December 31 after 15 years.

----------

Synectics PLC - Sheffield-based security and surveillance systems - Hires Kerstin Wendt to head German operations, based at company's new Berlin office. Wendt, a veteran of public transport operations, will lead the implementation of Synectics' operational management system for S-Bahn Berlin, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn. She joins from Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg, where she led development of fares and digital ticketing for the Berlin-Brandenburg urban transport network.

----------

Bakkavor Group PLC - London-based fresh prepared food - Sue Clarke to step down as independent non-executive director, having served on board since 2017.

----------

Alternative Income REIT PLC - UK commercial property investor with assets predominantly let on long leases - Holding discussions with 14.7% shareholder Glenstone Property PLC, following the failure at last week's AGM of the resolution to adopt a revised investment policy. Says Glenstone has requested board representation.
