HOUSTON, March 22 (Reuters) - A 102,500 barrel per daygasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit returned tonormal operation on Friday at BP Plc's 240,000barrel-per-day Los Angeles-area refinery in Carson, California,according to sources familiar with refinery operations.
The refinery completed repairs on to a compressor on the FCCon Thursday evening, the sources said, allowing the catcracker's return to normal operation, the sources said. Work onthe comprssor began on March 11, as the FCC was restartingfollowing an extended overhaul.
Repairs to the compressor were performed while the FCC wasrunning at less than full production levels, according to thesources. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)
