HOUSTON, Feb 28 (Reuters) - A fire broke out on Thursdayafternoon on a storage tank pump at Marathon Petroleum Corp's 451,000 barrel per day Galveston Bay Refinery in TexasCity, Texas, which was owned by BP Plc until the first ofthis month, according to local media repors.
Bruce Clawson, Texas City emergency management coordinator,confirmed there was a storage tank fire at one of the threerefineries in Texas City.
A message issued by Texas City's emergency managementdepartment told local residents that spilled oil on the groundaround the tank had ignited, but they did not need to take anyshelter due to the blaze. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)
