LONDON (Alliance News) - Blinkx PLC Thursday said it has launched the Skyrocket Player, a new Windows desktop online video streaming application.
The online media company said Skyrocket will use the Blinkx video index to provide access to premium content provided by the firm along with videos from other online video firms.
Blinkx said it is working on a mobile version of the application.
Blinkx Senior Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer Dan Slivjanovski said Skyrocket is "in line with our goal to revolutionise the way premium video and advertising is delivered to consumers - by taking it out of the browser entirely."
Blinkx shares were up 1.6% to 31.25 pence on Thursday.
