Zegona Hires Two New Directors, Murray Scott Steps Down

Thu, 16th Jan 2020 17:56

(Alliance News) - Zegona Communications PLC on Thursday said it has hired Kjersti Wiklund and Suzi Williams as independent non-executive directors effective from February 5.

The investor- which focuses on the telecommunications, media and technology sector - also said Independent Non-Executive Director Murray Scott will be stepping down from his role, effective from the next annual general meeting.

Wiklund is currently a non-executive director at engineering company Babcock International Group PLC. She has served as director of group technology operations at Vodafone Group PLC and chief operating officer of Amsterdam-based mobile network operator VimpelCom, now VEON.

Williams has served as chief brand & marketing officer at BT Group PLC. She has previously held senior leadership roles at Orange, BBC, KPMG, and Procter & Gamble Europe, said Zegona.

"I am delighted to welcome two such high calibre individuals to Zegona's board. Kjersti and Suzi bring a great understanding of our sector enhanced by valuable experience of working on a number of significant public company boards. I am confident they will both make powerful contributions to Zegona as we continue create value for our shareholders," said Zegona Chair & Chief Executive Eamonn O'Hare.

"The board and I have also enjoyed working with Murray over the past four and a half years and greatly appreciate the contribution he has made to the early stages of Zegona's journey," he added.

Zegona shares closed unchanged at 117.50 pence each on Thursday in London.
