UPDATE: Amino Technologies 1H Loss Narrows, Sees FY Breakeven

By Razak Musah Baba Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES LONDON (Dow Jones)--Amino Technologies PLC (AMO.LN), a provider of digital entertainment solutions for Internet TV and in-home multimedia distribution, Tuesday reported a narrowed first-half fiscal 2010 pretax loss and said it expects to breakeven for the year. Amino made pretax loss of GBP0.94 million for the half year ended May 31, compared with a loss of GBP3.56 million a year ealier, on revenue of GBP18.14 million and GBP12.80 million respectively. Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Burke, told Dow Jones Newswires that for the first time the company has got revenue visibility and a strong balance sheet, referring to an order book of 250,000 units--representing GBP21 million in revenue into the second half of the year--and an improved debt collection and better inventory management. Burke said the company is managing costs and expects to breakeven for the year ended Nov. 30, which he said is in line with managements expectations. Operating costs were reduced by GBP1.78 million to GBP6.35 million. The company had net cash balances of GBP13.13 million as at May 31 compared with GBP9.05 million at the end of last year. The company, which provides Internet Protocol television, expects to grow organically within it's existing markets--namely North and Latin America, Eastern and Western Europe--where it has over 90% of its customer base, Burke added. The CEO didn't rule out the possibility of a U.K expansion.
