Amerisur Resources Keeps 2019 Production Guidance On Stable Progress

Tue, 14th May 2019 09:52

LONDON (Alliance News) - South America-focused oil & gas producer Amerisur Resources PLC said Tuesday ahead of its annual general meeting that it has maintained its production guidance for its current financial year amid a stable performance to date.

Amerisur said that production to the end of April averaged 5,019 barrels of oil per day, with the Platanillo field, onshore Colombia, averaging 3,271 barrels.

The company's current group working interest production now stands at 6,500 bopd following a successful workover campaign at Platanillo and stable production from the CPO-5 block.

At Platanillo, Amerisur recently spud the Platanillo-26 infill well, which was targeted a potentially undrained area of the field identified by seismic data. The well is currently drilling at 7,800 feet with a target depth of 9,350 feet.

Workovers have been completed at Platanilo-2 and Platanillo-7, and the next phase of Amerisur's product optimisation plan is to re-enter Platanill-22 and perform a side-track to increase the well's productive potential.

For 2019, Amerisur Resources has maintained its average production guidance of 5,000 to 6,000 barrels of oil per day.

"We have achieved considerable success through our ongoing Platanillo workover campaign with production now over 4,000 bopd from the field. There is the potential to enhance this further with ongoing infill drilling and subsequent sidetrack. Exploration and production continues apace on CPO-5," said Chief Executive Officer John Wardle.

Shares in Amerisur Resources were up 1.8% at 12.73 pence on Tuesday.
