LONDON (Alliance News) - Amur Minerals Corp Friday said Chief Executive Robin Young met the governor of Amur Oblast to discuss the company's Kun-Manie nickel sulphide project, which the governor has agreed is a "key project" in the region.
The Kun Manie project is in the Amur Oblast, a region in the far east of Russia, and the company said Young and Randolph Lewis, the company's president of Russian operations, met Governor Oleg Kozhemyako on Thursday to discuss the project.
"The focus of discussions was related to the development of the access and power infrastructure requirements for the project...The Amur government and Amur Minerals agreed to continue to work closely together to find the lowest-cost and most effective method to access the site and transport metal to markets," said the company.
Amur Minerals said the local governor and the company agree Kun-Manie is a "key project capable of providing in excess of 1,000 jobs and additional revenues in the region," it said.
"The governor fully supports the company's development and the pending issuance of the production licence to Amur Minerals," it added.
Amur shares were down 3.6% to 8.17 pence per share on Friday morning.
