(ShareCast News) - Acal, a supplier of customised electronics to industry, has appointed Malcolm Diamond as non-executive chairman from 1 April 2017.He will take over from Richard Moon, who will step down at the end of March next year, having performed the role since April 2005.Diamond has been non-executive director on the company's board since 1 November 2015. He will resign as member of the Audit committee once he assumed his role as chairman, but will become chairman of the nomination committee and a member of the remuneration committee.Non-Executive Chairman Richard Moon said: "I am delighted that the Acal Board has appointed Malcolm Diamond to succeed me as Chairman. His significant commercial skills and leadership experience, gained from growing an international business supplying manufacturing customers, will be a valuable asset.""I am honoured to be appointed Chairman and look forward to working with Nick Jefferies and the rest of the Board as Acal pursues its ambitious growth strategy," said Diamond.The share price rose 4.58% to 213.88p at 1009 GMT on Tuesday.
