EXECUTIVE CHANGES: Insig AI executive chair and Palace Capital CFO out

Fri, 13th Aug 2021 14:45

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Friday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

Insig AI PLC - venture capital firm formerly known as Catena Group PLC - Matthew Farnum-Schneider resigns as executive chair, leaving after a short handover period, having served for two years. Richard Bernstein, "a long-term supporter and shareholder", is named interim non-executive chair until a permanent independent non-executive chair can be found. Bernstein, a 12.6% shareholder in Insig AI, was investment manager of AIM-listed Crystal Amber Fund Ltd.

----------

Palace Capital PLC - investor in regional UK commercial real estate - Stephen Silvester steps down as chief financial officer, leaving the board on October 29 after six years with Palace Capital. Head of Finance & Operations Matthew Simpson is promoted to finance director designate.

----------

US Solar Fund PLC - owns and operates solar power assets in North America - Notes that New Energy Solar Manager, the fund's manager, has promoted Liam Thomas to chief executive officer from chief investment officer. Thomas joined NESM in 2016 and has 17 years experience in the renewable energy, infrastructure, and agribusiness sectors, US Solar Fund says. Thomas replaces John Martin, who is leaving on September 30 to join renewable energy developer Windlab Pty Ltd.

----------

City Of London Investment Trust PLC - Hires Ominder Dhillon as a non-executive director, starting September 1. Dhillon was global head of Institutional Distribution at asset manager M&G PLC until the start of 2020. Prior M&G, he was head of Distribution at Impax Asset Management Group PLC.

----------

Keywords Studios PLC - Dublin-based technical services for video game developers - Hires Marion Sears and Neil Thompson as independent non-executive directors, starting immediately. Sears was a City analyst and investment banker. She currently is a non-executive director of retailer Dunelm Group PLC and senior independent director of Fidelity European Trust PLC and of Aberdeen New Dawn Investment Trust PLC. Thompson held senior positions at software firm Microsoft Corp and was part of the management team that launched Xbox into Europe, Keywords notes.

----------

PureTech Health PLC - Boston, Massachusetts-based clinical-stage biotherapeutics - Hires Julie Krop as chief medical officer, joining from Nasdaq-listed Freeline Therapeutics Holdings PLC, where she held the same position.

----------

Prospex Energy PLC - investor in onshore and shallow offshore European gas and power projects - Receives letter from group of shareholders requisitioning a general meeting to remove existing and proposed directors and appoint new ones. Prospex says the documentation received doesn't form a valid request. Therefore, it won't call the meeting. However, the board has spoken to the shareholders and invited them to submit a valid request. Shareholders last month rejected the re-appointment of James Smith as a director, and the board currently has only three members.

----------

Trinity Exploration & Production PLC - oil assets in Trinidad and Tobago - Confirms Nicholas Clayton as permanent non-executive chair. Clayton had taken on the role on an interim basis following the death earlier this month of Bruce Dingwall, who had been executive chair. Managing Director Jeremy Bridglalsingh is promoted to CEO.

----------

Block Energy PLC - oil and gas development and production company focused on Georgia - Hires Jeremy Asher as non-executive director, effective immediately. Asher is chair & CEO of AIM-listed Tower Resources PLC. Block Energy shareholders at a general meeting on Wednesday had rejected proposals by Forest Nominees Ltd, acting on behalf of GP Jersey Ltd, to remove Chair Philip Dimmock and replace him with Charles Valceschini. Over 60% of votes were against both resolutions.

----------

Abcam PLC - Cambridge, England-based life science research tools - Hires Sally Crawford as non-executive director, starting immediately. Crawford was chief operating officer of US managed care firm Healthsource Inc and now is a health care consultant, based in New Hampshire.
