Hardman Investor Forum: Primary Health Properties, Open Orphan, Surface Transforms, NSF

Welcome to the November Hardman & Co Investor Forum. Hardman had the usual four companies presenting, and this is the webcast of the evening, filmed by London South East on behalf of Hardman. In order these were:

Primary Health Properties #PHP01:59 PHP gives investors the chance to buy into primary health properties, ie GP Medical Centres, effectively all let to the NHS or its Irish equivalent. Thus the shares have gilt-like characteristics with a substantially higher yield. It’s been a big year for PHP, having merged with its competitor, MedicX, giving it a portfolio with a gross value of £2.3bn

Open Orphan was founded in 2017, with the goal of becoming Europe’s leading rare disease and orphan drug focused pharma services company by a management team with extensive industry and financial expertise. Open Orphan is listed on both the London and Dublin stock exchanges.

Surface Transforms #SCE0:52:44 2019 is proving to be the year of transformation for Surface. After many years of development, it has finally started to win contracts from major household car manufacturers for its carbon ceramic brakes.

The team has had a busy year, including an attempt to take over its competitor Provident Financial. This is a good moment to catch up on the business and understand the investment case
