why are the newest messages on the general chat area on the highest page numbers while onthe share chat[ages teh newest are on page 1. Don't really care which it is, just wondered about the inconsistency? thks in advance for a reply

hi buller. the normal share chat where the newest comes on page 1 is sort of like a chat room so people who look at a share consistently can see the newest messages first. whereas as the general chat area is like a forum where newest posts come after the old ones, so you can read the whole thread without losing track of the main post. i think admins got it right. rambo

No problem, I am sure I can get my brain adjusted around it, just got confused first time I saw it. By the way I still think at least for q while it would be useful to put general chat into the entries on the side and the latest entries on share chat alongside the normal share chat just to give the whole new area which I applaud some impetus. Thanks rambo and Admin for your replies

New question for admin - Sometimes there is talk of posters using multiple i.d.'s or of banned posters reappearing under a new name. Do admin have any way of stopping this possibly through ip address? If there is no way of monitoring it then I guess it leaves the site open to corruption.

Hi boredmum. Yes, we monitor the site constantly for multiple ID's and ne'er-do-wells! This stretches to banned posters, but we would obviously rather not disclose how this is undertaken. Thanks for mentioning this and your continued common-sense posting/support.

I have a question for Admin, I know that you are continually looking for ways to improve the site. I have found today that there seems to be lots of traffic on lots of different shares. As we have a filter out function is it possible to have the opposite so that if we have say 20 shares then we could just see chat come up for our portfolio or watch list?

Hi Admin, Did you get a chance to see your emails today? I've asked a question about Facebook. Thanks

I wondered if we could have share threads for TATE (tate @lyle) only the ADR there and STAN (standard chartered bank) please?

Hello EXDIV. I think I am misunderstanding your question. I have just seen people posting on the STAN and TATE threads. Simply type STAN or TATE in the yellow box (above left), press 'Enter' (without choosing from the drop-down list) ...and there you are. Please correct me if this is not what you are referring to. Regards.

Thanks for advice Admin.I was unaware of the way in by pressing Enter -always have used the drop down list. Ok now

We are now working on this as we are unhappy that the search is not 100% perfect i.e. Tate & Lyle does not come up as the first choice (or at all!) when the TIDM is entered. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention.

ADMIN Hi I have subscribed to your premier service, so how do I log in. Thanks Mark

Hello BIGMARK. Thanks for subscribing. There are quite a few people on there now, so it should get pretty busy. To finally answer your question (!), simply log out and back in again, click on the black tab and away you go. Regards, Admin.

ADMiN, as this seems to be the thread that you reply on. can you please respond to the request titled 'poster history' ? out of interest, how do you select which threads you reply to and which ones you dont intend to? many thanks

No worries - we have been a bit slack in responding. The feature to look at a general chat user's post history has been developed, and will probably go live next week.
