How's everyone doing? This board has gone quiet and I had to scroll down to see it!
Anyone winning, bought anything new?
NCCL..... hurry up please!

Market's looking toppy. It really all hinges on US-China trade negotiations...
I simply don't believe NCCL's delay is between the parties involved. I think they were ready to sign in Beijing and China is revisiting its Belt and Road CO2 footprint. I think this is really touch and go. If China can supply Moz with that additional power using Gas, for example, I think they'll kill it regardless of how much Moz Gov or CMEC want it. I think Hanno has been aware of the risk for a while hence the diversification into green energy. I am going to derisk further tomo, if time allows. Hope I'm wrong on this.

I'm somewhat in agreement with you, the signing keeps on being delayed with RNS after RNS stating it's imminent.
I'm going to wait until the end of June and will then force myself to cut half the investment. Hopefully we won't get news that the whole deal is off before then!

Yep, lost it's buzz here since Cam went away. Doing well this year, I think Safecharge has been my best share and just been offered for and now bagged as a long termer. Other than that I've just been taking profits and a few losses, Amer has been my biggest pity and wish I'd taken more profit off the top. Made a few bob on Bilby & Ricardo but sold both. Not many left in my pf right now. Wish I'd held onto PETS.
Will STAF bounce ? I don't know but one I'm watching closely

All good here... markets do look toppy, plus it's maybe got that summer vibe with less liquidity in small caps ?
Can't grumble at the year to date (or Oct 1st to date as I'm tracking so it includes the Q4 18 carnage)... usual punty winners and punty losers but thankfully the big conviction holds have been winners (TXP from 12, RRE from 565).. also just banked most of my SKIN at 60% or so and left some for a free ride.
UOG prize for most disappointing. NCCL prize for most melon twisting.
Got a good chunk into cash now and even took some XBT bitcoin tracker in the SIPP which is up nicely and I think will do well if the equity markets take a dive... and even if they don't.
Sold one of my classic motors at the weekend and including all expenditure and lots of fun it was up 30% over last 5 years... so happy with that. (another good method of sheltering capital from blowing it on shitty AIM punts :)
Working towards positioning without any junk punts so I can take some quality time away from the screen over summer :)

Can someone please explain the madness that is BOU? There's an RTO pending but for whatever reason the posters over seem to think it will 10 bag when it completes!
I'm not invested but would be very interested to know why they think it will multi-bag?
As far as I know and I've had a couple of companies that have had RTO's before, you get share consolidation and they issue millions/billions of shares and you're holding value drops by approx 95% - that happened to me both times.

Hi everyone, where did Cam go? Any thoughts on RBW Rainbow rare earths? Apparently they are one of only two REE producers outside of China. The other one, Lynas had a takeover offer of $1.5 Billion back in March this year. As per your post 1750 I think we may see a re-rate with some of these REEs.

Any thoughts on Nuformix NFX with their recent positive results and payments they have received?

Sold out of NCCL apart from nominal sum in SIPP. Cue JDA and spike. I just think this is the Chinese gov reconsidering the belt and road CO2 impact. That thing was ready to sign at the last belt and road summit imho.

I also sold out a few months ago of NCCL, tired of waiting (hope Warren Buffet not reading this) still heaps in 88e things have been picking up the past couple of days. FO news expected this June. So fingers crossed it's not another false dawn, but a big pay day.

Well OPP turned out to be a flOPP. What a waste of time/money. It obviously stank to high heaven, but you thought that they must be able to recover something. Some very clever, cross jurisdictional, opaque, white collar crime at work here. Criminal charges should be brought. Still, we all knew the risks! Time to move on.

dya think ? lol ... "The Company seems to have made net investments of about $70 million, most of which seems to have been subsequently written off and had expenditures of about $57 million. Of that $57 million, about $16 million went to pay employees and, beginning in 2015, OAL after the Company in 2014 adopted a fund rather than operating company structure. About $11.5 million went to pay "professionals," presumably primarily lawyers. About $4.6 million went to pay directors. About $3.6 million was paid in fees in connection with the 2011 capital raise. The auditors received about $1.6 million. The remaining $19 million is hard to put your finger on because it is buried within accounting categories that are not self-explanatory. "

Maybe we'll get a phantom rise on OPP, seen it before
STAF, all bad news out of the way ?

Strange signs of life at OPP today :)
Hope everyone is winning ... or at least not losing too badly seeing as its a bit of a bloodbath today.

Take a look at Shanta Gold SHG folks, not a lot of free float but is massively undervalued even if the price of Gold was $1400
Posts: 6,468
good shout SHG Kiwi ... I had 2x 40% trades on it a few months ago... should've held the 2nd one for the gold run. Almost took some at 9 the other day as I like SHG a lot but added SRB instead... I'm on that and GPM for gold at the mo.
Choppy markets at the mo.
Been adding RRE on dips despite averaging up from £6 and well overweight since relist.
Also been buying ARB, the bitcoin miner.... incredible figures as they are knocking out 165 BTC a month on an 80% margin and are ramping up almost 300% so will be closer to 500 BTC a month by end of Q4 on the same margin.
Check the figures here ... https://twitter.com/microcapfocus/status/1161896426357608448
mcap 23m or so..

Morning all, been a long time - can we resurrect this thread again please?
MK1 - ARB looks good, took a small bite, waiting for RNS re installation of the next batch of miners, should be good.
3P - how are you getting 25%, spill the beans mate....! I got sucked into the SXX hype, sitting on a 50% loss!

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone can help. Is it a good idea to watch the RNS feed for companies that I am invested in? Is it useful or should I be looking somewhere else. Is there any good websites I can get this from.
Apologises I am new to the investing world.

Hello Miner, welcome!
Yes, reading RNS' is a very good thing and highly recommended. I personally use https://www.investegate.co.uk/ which allows you to setup a watch list for all your companies and you get them usually at the exact time it is released to the market. Most RNS' are released between 7am to 8am.
Depending on the company you are interested in there may not be much "reliable" info available in the public domain.
Be VERY CAREFUL what you read here and NEVER take anyone's advice on a hot stock tip. Key point here is DYOR!
Good luck!

If you're new to this investing lark I will say the same I say to everyone. It takes 2 years to start to get it, even then you're still learning and still making mistakes. Timing and patience are everything.
I would also advise getting a copy of The Naked Trader, turned my fortunes around, a fun read, good advice but be aware it will tell you to avoid buying the sort of gutter shares that everyone will be telling you to buy and makes perfect sense, also tells you how to short shares which can be useful too.
And yeah Investegate rns's for your shares is a must

Balman, had a couple of buyouts on my shares this year which has really helped. Made some mistakes as ever but made loads on SCH (bought out), ETO (bought out), PETS (shorts closing), AMER, WSG, PHD & CER. Only 2 of those I'm still in are AMER (possible buy out) & wsg (out and back in as a punt)

Nice one 3P!
2019 has been a crap year for me so far, lost everything on UEN (board room shuffle and corruption) but did well on BOO - sold out at a pretty decent profit.
HNR now renamed ZOE with change of business (CBD!) and branding is launching on US OTC market tomorrow - so expecting a decent rise as the yanks love their CBD stocks! Up 10%+ today on this news.
RBD doing very well and NANO in potential takeover talks - SP has been rather steady considering rumours that Apple are possible buyers.
Still possible to close out 2019 as the best year so far....... we'll see!
