Time out

Sunday, 5th December 2010 10:53 - by Boredmum

I have decided to take a little time out from the markets. In all honesty, I’m not sure how achievable that will be as I still have many open positions, both long and short-term. So, what has prompted this decision? Well, a few things have. Finding that I was missing out in other areas of life; being invited for lunch or coffee and having open positions that I was ‘playing’ for that day, turning down my invite to stay home instead. Alternatively, I would go out and find myself constantly checking my phone for price fluctuations. I bought in to Desire Oil (TIDM code: DES) for a short play, buying too high before the fall, then taking some more. I felt certain that the fall was orchestrated, but then lost my nerve at the last minute and sold some at a loss. The fall was orchestrated and the rest of them came good the very next day. This trade left me annoyed on many levels. I was annoyed at losing my nerve and not standing by my own thoughts entirely. I was also annoyed at losing money that I had worked so hard to achieve in the first place. This year, every time I progress, there is always something that knocks me back again. Now, I am a great believer in things happening for a reason. My thoughts on this year being so difficult are simply that it’s time to take a break. Concentrate on what is important and, although not being totally away from the markets, attempt to distance myself a little and give my shares a chance to grow. So, I have decided that I am taking the festive season away from my Blog and I shall see how I feel in the New Year. Of course, I couldn’t resist topping-up on some Churchill Mining (TIDM code: CHL). By all means, this share will be a great deciding factor on my success in the markets, so wish me luck with this one as I wish you all luck with your choices.
