Whoops, bit of a difference then. Cheers Joy
The $1.10 quoted for feminised is per seed, industrial hemp is priced per lb!
No good for canabanoid oil extraction though.
Well in that case we need to be producing them seeds Joy, can't be harder than producing our feminised ones surely?
Industrial Hemp is grown for Hemp fiber, it's in everything from clothing to car parts!
Anyone know what industrial hemp seeds are? Going for $10.85 per pound, up 30% MOM. Feminised holding around the $1.10 mark

Yes 2500 is the sale price of the seed per acre. But if we could buy off Zoetic direct ( they are selling to the distributer at 50 cents a seed then the cost would be $1250 per acre . Maybe the solution is to ask to be a distributer and get the seeds that way, then propagate them and sell them on for more than $1 a seed . What I don't know is how much you could ask per propagated plant.
Interesting idea, you could be certain that you had a female plant, but at 2500 plants per acre (seems to be the planting density for hemp outdoor), probably not very practical.
The other thing that strikes you about the feminized hemp seeds is the staggering cost compared to other crops. ….a bit of Googling shows a 50lb bag of wheat seed has 675,000 seeds and cost around $13.00. You would need about 1.7 bags per acre ($22 total). Whereas an acre of feminized hemp would cost around $2500 to pant!
I was wondering if Zoetic had thought about supplying plugs to end users that's where the most money is to be made ( a plug for those who don't know is a germinated seed that's a week to two weeks old and stands about an inch or so high usually planted in what are called plug trays. The trays can have over a 1000 plugs per tray though this can vary.) it is possible to package and post plug trays as well, so getting them to the end user isn't that difficult. Not sure about the insurance though. If we were providing the geminated plant how much could we charge ? Would it be worth setting up a company to grow them on from seed and sell the plugs?
Any thoughts folks
Nice post trillsg! A super price obviously. I though it interesting they add 10% to seed quantity to accomodate the 90% gemination rate. A nice touch. I think most people would be happy if 9 out of 10 of their seeds produced a plant!
I get the feeling that we will be trying for an even lower THC strain. They talked about 28:1 CBD:THC. I get the eeling also they are a smaller unit than ours. So we are trying to do what they are on a bigger scale. Clearly small seed number attract a much higher price.
I did enjoy the fine curves of the exotically coiffured employee who I presume enjoys a smoke from time to time. Why not!! Colorado's finest ;-)
Colorado company selling Feminised Hemp Seeds. How many are we expecting to produce?
Would be nice to build a good reputation and do away with the need for a broker and their 50% cut.
