Hopefully we'll get a decent trading update with the confirmation of the half-year numbers - it feels like Q3 was a pretty important quarter for YGEN and we'll be within spitting distance of the end of next week, so Lyn may well feel confident enough to make reference to how Q3 compares with Q2. If it's anything like the same as Q2, then that puts us on Ā£27m for the year already and, more importantly, holding up very nicely during a period when the world thought that PCR testing was going to dwindle. You'd have to say that Q4 looks likely to beat Q3 on most fronts, so we could be in for a very interesting update.
Ok, weāll agree to differ because they count in mine! The upside potential is far greater than sticking Ā£50k in and aiming for a 50-100% rise. ā¦. I canāt find the numbers right now but a 50-100% increase in the SP would no doubt make 10 x the amount of profit on the options! Half a million, a million? In my book, thatās a lot more motivation!
As much as the BB will moan about this not happening and that not happening, the BOD definitely have an incentive for the SP to be higher!
Ryn, I agree to a point, but options don't count in my book. Money from their own pockets is what matters for me at least.
They have enough options to want the SP to go up - any cash purchases would be a token gesture IMO! It wouldnāt hurt sentiment, but Iām not convinced it would make a significant difference either - most will just see it as an attempt to prop up the SP.
Just get/keep the revenue up and make a profit!
Davand, the 5-year plan stated substantial share appreciation from years 3-5 onwards. From the time of announcement this would begin from november 2021. I fully accept that the covid disclaimer, wheeled out in all walks of life, will play a part in theāmea non culpaā delay in positive performance.
Not to mention the summons from the IIās for a spanking re excessive dilutions.
It would at least show a little confidence in the company and what they are doing, wouldn't it? A lot of investors pay attention to director buys.
Would it actually make any difference if they did? A 0.5p spike, and ...
If we're running flat out on the government surge testing contract for PCR and sequencing to bring the coffers in, that will do for the foreseeable!
If the SP wallows around here for much longer, I wouldn't be surprised if we wake up one day to a red dot with a takeout offer at an insulting price.
it's certainly a while since Reynolds, Rees and Hextall bought some!
I suppose we will see management filling their boots after Tuesday..lol! Joking apart, it's very poor form they don't buy some shares to at least show willing and put some substance behind the big talk of massive US outfits coming aboard the good ship ygen.
Ah! That'll be the official excuse then no doubt.
Five year plan doesn't count now due to covid !!
MM moving the price around to try and get some trades going. Not many interested even below 12p it seems.
with all these sells one would think the update is going to be pretty awful. Surely not?
Can't remember when the 5 years started, are we coming into the final year now?
First question to The CEO-
āDear Sir Lyn,
How relieved are you that your long-time stalker has announced his sudden and unexpected retirement from this board? Do you think he will keep to his word, or will he likely be lurking in the recesses of the dark web ready to re-launch? Oh, and any chance of getting the SP showing some significant ācapital appreciationā as outlined in your Soviet style 5-year plan?
LOL
you sound like twix mate. I don't have a crystal ball and will wait to see what happens rather than indulge in negative spin for the sake of it. I'm a glass half full kind of guy.
Life's more enjoyable with that outlook.
Couple of zero-hour lab assistant roles added for the covid testing side of things which may be a result of the recent travel rules change or who know perhaps another gov contract:

We might even get some news this week in the run up to next Tuesday.
They need more non COVID news for me. As and when they confirm those big US customers then more confidence will flow into this. COVID income is great but temporary, though could well go on for quite a bit longer it seems. Another govt contract will help.
Cooper, so will there be the inevitable SP drop, even with good results? The SP is only 12 now, "Spin the wheel and round it goes where it stops no-one knows" ~ an old episode of Morse on tv this week.
Roll on next week. I've no idea what to expect other than positivity & plenty of income in our coffers :)
Yes, always like to see a live presentation. Usually means there is nothing untoward to worry about, as why would you put yourself up for it?Apparently business is all going to plan as per last update. Get your questions in, let's no let them finish early like last time. Now is your chance to whine at management instead of these BB.
14th December. Here's to a good detailed set of HY results and outlook.
All the best.
