Yes one or two parts of the core portfolio coming good now. CDT inactivity and price is a c9ncern. Like you all I’d love the board to show some vigour in getting the website updated.
There have been further ENSI sales referenced in the last couple of updates. I would say now total holding around 900k shares. Buys were at 42.5p & 70p and Sale prices have been as high as ~90p hence why the breakeven is now relatively low. Overall in good profit on this one.
Agree @THG
If the BoD actually did manage to take the time to read this BB could they please just update our holdings in the investment companies!
On the next quarterly update all they have to do is state the amount of shares held in each company. Would save us all trying to trawl through the various RNSs where they have sold bits and bobs all the time to try and gauge what our holding is. Just a bit of transparency please
By strange coincidence it’s up 4p to 59p in last 15 mins.
So whatever the holding and whatever the average price ( I don’t think it’s anywhere near that low bigDave ) , it is an investment in decent profit .
Yep, my number matches the website. Overall I make it an effective price of 25.8p so >100% on that investment. Although this was from some time ago so could now be out of date as well.
Totally agree gambler .
Decent cornerstone results btw !
Yes Ltd. They haven't updated the website for over a year. The first quarterly investment update is due, that's usually when we can piece together what they have sold to cover the wages and overheads.
It's been said on numerous occasions that we have 3 director salaries to pay for yet but haven't invested in a company for a year (we are supposed to be an investment company!), yet we are selling investments at losses to pay for them. The least they could do is give us timely quarterly updates (this would take a maximum 1 hour out their day) and keep the website updated.
But your point is correct based on the value of our investments we are drastically undervalued, but based on the performance of those investments and director communications we are valued about right.
The website says 1.1m holding , so I may have missed a quarterly update where they sold more …but all investments are hopelessly out of date on the website e.g we no longer hold any shares in kanabo .
This is a point I think everyone can agree upon . Would take 5 mins to update the holdings
Piecing through RNSs I believe our holding in Ensilica is around 1.63million shares at an average of no more than 50p
Most were bought at 12% discount to original placing price of 50p and some were bought at next placing of 70p but most of those were sold immediately at a profit .
So the average might be lower but if we take 50p then clearly we are 10% up and the current holding’s value is just shy of £900k
This is not false and misleading information…although it would be much better all round if VELA kept a live record of their investments then there would be no argument !
Are they the ones responsible for the dismal performance of Vela Technologies ?
Oh no not the Hogbog jinxing CDT and VELA again!
Saw there were 30 posts so read hoping for some insight.
Sadly the ‘ghost of JB’ is with his again and he seems to have had a poor weekend.
LtdAxis, why don’t you ask Brent what the strategy is for Vela going forward while you’re at it ?
Hang your head in shame LtdAxis.
Tell me what shares are up to pay for the directors wages each quarter ?
It’s not about us investors failing to do DD it’s about you spreading false info regarding VELA!
Or yourself for failing to do your own due diligence JB
BTW LtdAxis you do see that merely being even in CDT ain’t enough to turn the dial with Vela!
I want CDT to do well to get VELA out of the hole it’s in.
Unfortunately for CIZ their hope is clinical trials commencing which has been a lot longer than what Allan Syms alluded to in the interviews.
So have a go at Allan and James for falling into these two investments.
Cost of investment ( in SGSC+put option) £2.75m
Value of Vela's CDT shares as of 20.45pm this evening= £2.73m ($3.36)
Up £233k today.
Value of JB's posts: NIL
What's the point of any of your posts JB??
Stuck in the low 3’s until commercial deal inducing clinical news changes the dial.
Exactly the same situation occurring with Cizzle Biotechnology currently where there hasn’t even been any news on clinical trials!
Jimmy was 100% right in predicting Vela would crash to 0.014p!
“So we are undervalued by around £600k assuming the other investments have zero value”
The problem the market has with Vela is that the “other” investments have been gradually eroded to pay for the general costs. Eventually they will become null.
They’re a lot nearer profit than when Csfs was at 6.5p JB !!
But the issue IMHI is the whole portfolio value against the current mcap .
Our CDT holding 5 mins ago was up 168k @£2.68m
The mcap as calculated by the share price times number of shares is circulation £2.07m.
So we are undervalued by around £600k assuming the other investments have zero value .
They do not …they are worth combined at least the same again .
Hence the SP is way under where it should be .
I understand the reasons why it has dropped ( poor communication etc etc) but I am merely saying it’s at a level one might take a reasonably safe punt, albeit still with risk .
