But sure Tesco will never be taken over. It’s British for ever! Just keep and collect dividends even if you also shop at Aldi!
moniman-jimjam agree 100% with your views, time for analysts to revaluing the whole sector.
MRW takeover must be good for the share price here, it could be a most interesting time to hold TSCO
Morrisons bidding war continues with higher offer, this is good news for Tesco imho as it shows how severely undervalued Tesco currently is at the moment.
Morning All.
I follow several sites where i am invested, obviously.I am yet to understand all this ramping/de-ramping.
Most if not all of us are here hoping to make money plus it can be a hobby/interest.Personally it is my wife who is the Tesco employee and who holds the shares, she just doesnt have the time or desire to keep a check.
Why anybody wants to spend time posting nonsense baffles me.We should all hope Tesco continues to thrive as many people depend on them for the chance to make a living.
I’ll put Mboy into the paid deramping camp.
DAVA I fully agree you get the Tesco Points 100%!
Nope. Its called an opinion which I'm entitled to so lay off with your unnecessary bully boy comments. I was a holder (unlike yourself, no doubt...see we can all play that silly little game?) and now I've sold out anticipating some volatility for the reasons stated. Don't be so dismissive of peoples points of view. How do you know its nonsense? Oh sorry...only positive comments allowed here and you're always right aren't you? Time will prove everything.
Midlandboy, you post nonsense like this
“ ……could spell big trouble in the short term for supermarkets. I've sold out this am anticipating quite a bit of significant share price volatility soon”…
It sounds more likely that you’ve missed your buying opportunity so stop sulking and posting nonsense!
Although there is a shortage of drivers the shop I work at has still got their deliveries and with DHL under contract to Tesco at an agreed delivery cost it should cost DHL the extra.
I think DHL are going to struggle to make a profit delivering for Tesco as they under cut Stobarts by around £4million
They do but it costs tsco a lot more to use them and although dhl pay drivers well, they have a huge turnover of staff (very long hours) and they are also struggling for drivers. I know someone who has driven for dhl very recently having moved from agency work for tesco for more money. Most new drivers only last a couple of weeks. He did 3 months. But he's gone back to agency work. There's a well publicised lack of hgv drivers nationally. Dhl offering a 2k xmas bonus for anyone staying until new year. That's how bad its getting. Trouble is brewing imo.
DHL Deliver for Tesco they are not tesco workers
Hi all. Seems there may be a driver's strike imminent at tsco. Apparently, they were offered a 20p pay rise.. ...was rejected...quelle surprise...and got offered 22p instead. Lots of ructions in general in the haulage industry at the mo...could spell big trouble in the short term for supermarkets. I've sold out this am anticipating quite a bit of significant share price volatility soon. GLA
from sainsbury to Tesco taking place?
I have money invested in Sainsbury but a lot more in Tesco, so I don't mind if that is the case.
Sainsbury gone from recent peak of about 306p down to 290p
Tesco up several pence in the same several days.
Peaked at 247 first thing this morning, flat as a pancake rest of day
theredbaron > The Dog thinks you might be spoton having seen both of the other competitors ASDA and Morrisons already consumed and no longer available for chewing, bring on the predators as the saying goes without smoke there is no fire!
BTW Would be nice to see the IC article if possible?
Had a piece on why Tesco is a takeover target along with Sainsbury’s,. This week .( and the whole ftse 100 but they break it down and both retailers are in the top 10 on one of the graphs)
Tesco’s share price is down 44% compared to Sainsbury’s plus 12 over 5 years ( I need to look at the magazine to confirm ) so you would of thought there is some upside ,
winDfall...as in apples...
I don't think there are any solid foundations to talk of a take over.
Simply people looking at what has happened to a similar company and then wishing the same here.
Can't blame them as who would not want to make a fast buck. But lots of random numbers being thrown about with no basis.
With all this talk on takeovers and Amazon etc, is there any facts or even a hint of someone putting a bid in for Tesco, I currently work for Tesco and have done for 15yr and would hate for Amazon to takeover due to my work/pension & benefits etc, but on the other hand i have over £40k of shares in SAYE and BAYE etc and be on to a good win fall, imo this is all speculation and dare i say it "hope" that Amazon come in for most, i think if Amazon were wanting a supermarket they would have went for Morrisons with them being already on the Amazon app, they can see the sales volume etc.
Should already be 300p and if anyone wants to bid then we’ll over 500p would have to be put on the table imho? Adyor!
Very pleased to see this price rise and seemingly sticking above 240p.
It's been a long time coming...
leas > It's heading the right way now in the 240s onwards and upwards ;-)
Why not , Sainsburys over £ 3
Push to 259? :)
