BS.
Been out for a drive cos it’s glorious weather. I think I kinda got the gist, cheers.
You need a phd in financials and customs and excise to deal with the stock market nowadays. I see the government on about taxing divi’s now, the robbing clock suckers.
Aren’t we lucky we have you Smith to help us understand how the market works. Thank heaven for small mercies.
Smallfry, it works differently between LSE and ASX.
LSE decide upon buy and sell using the theoretical mid point of the spread compared to the 'theoretical price of the trade".
I'll return to theoretical bit, but, in essence, they compare the trade price with the mid point , low is taken to be a sell , high a buy , matching is unknown!
Theoretical is down to trades on LSE being treated as a single transaction against a single spread, whilst part-fills can be at varying prices and once the lowest price is exhausted, the spread will rise accordingly.
LSE probably use the weighted-average as the trade price.
ASX treat part fills as individual transactions in determining buy/sell status!
So one trade can be reflected as a mixture of buys and sells, with the lowest price rising in parallel with the low end of the spread. The closing price in ASX is the value of the final trade (or part fill), whilst LSE use the average of the spread or the last Uncrossing Trade which is often outside the spread?
Weighted average?
Say 500 shares are available at 2.3p , 800 @ 2.4p and 2500 @ 2.5p with loads more at higher prices. Also, say you want to buy 3000 shares at a limit of 2.6p!
The cost is actually 500@2.3 + 800@2.4 + 1700@2.5 (totalling 7320p) , and leaving 800 free @2.5p - the new low end of the spread!
The WEIGHTED average is 7320p / 3000 or 2.44p less than the mid point of the defunct spread 2.3p upwards? And spread is now temporarily 2.5p upwards.
Hope that makes it clearer Smallfry.
Great news! I emailed a guy in the ticket office personally and he has just phoned to say he has reserved a seat for me for Luton after they had a few tickets returned!
I am a happy bunny!
Swinger - there is no project to fund as yet because there is no PPA agreed. Funders need a specific and contractually obliged contract in order to commit to lending.
It is laughable how many of the Tlou herd (influenced by the usual suspects) actually believed that funding was agreed subject to PPA or that funding was somehow not particularly relevant.
It is now mid-Sept and still we wait for a PPA from the 100MW tender issued January 2017. Forget the reasons why - this delay is scandalous / ridiculous.
If the say 10MW PPA is secured in next month, the race is on to secure funding before mid-December, otherwise this to gets delayed to March/ April next year. Another scandal !
And since nothing here has ever happened ahead of time, we are looking at March 2022 as earliest when 10MW PPA and related funding is secured. Then they take rest of 2022 to deliver transmission line (I suspect it is the critical path item).
So revenues in Qtr 2 - 2023. How is Tlou going to find itself for that long ??!!
Anyone else think some of these sells could be buys? I don’t understand how the price is going up on very large sells.
Can Anybody explain?
mrm
I think even Saint Tony has had a serious reality check when it comes to dealing with BOTS GOVT. That is of course the delays for the PPA/Funding are down to the BOTS GOVT as us mere mortals don’t know what’s going on.
Thornback
Regardless of who is to blame for the delays and falling SP, I can’t imagine the BOTS GOVT losing any sleep over the Pension Fund losing money as, if history is anything to go by, they only get motivated when it affects them personally and financially.
Strange they're all in exact pairs and you'd think the SP would move lower, not creep up, transfers maybe?
4 x 500k today, not sure if the lot at 2.59 are buys but this shares is frustrating.
They say Buy Low Sell High. Its easy to buy low in Tlou but never the chance to sell high. Certainly one of my worst investments but I managed to trade a few around the core to claim back some losses. I still have a chunky hold and its hard to sell in the amount I need!
I have actually lost touch on the project funding it was supposed to be about 2 years ago and still we wait.
Never worry all about the Sells. Smith will step in to buy his 300 quids worth every month on credit card to soak up the slack. We are in great hands; Saint Tony has our backs.
Morning smallfish.
Maybe we can take some comfort out of the BPOPF position whilst we await any news..!
Whizzer
Can’t imagine how the people of BOTS Pension Fund that invested at 11p are feeling right now.
It could be whoever took place in the latest raise offloading large amounts. It certainly is not all going to plan like the companies tweets would have us believe! I think minorminer has sold out as he is very quiet after his shocking 12p prediction! He created a bit of a positive sp movement to get out! IMO
The million+ sells (in tranches) over the last few days are becoming pretty regular now. If there is nobody shorting this can only mean some very large holders have had enough. Got to admit, I’m seriously thinking about it and try make back my losses elsewhere.
