Statement re bank financing
3 May 2019 - Thomas Cook Group plc notes the recent media speculation regarding discussions in relation to its financing requirements.
As stated in our first quarter trading announcement of 7 February 2019, Thomas Cook kept a healthy level of liquidity headroom through the last winter cash low period, maintaining a minimum liquidity buffer within our targeted range of £150 million to £200 million.
Since that update, the business has moved into its key summer booking period where the Group's liquidity position continues to strengthen. Looking ahead to Winter 2019/20, we have taken the proactive step of engaging in discussions with our lending banks now to ensure we have both the financial flexibility necessary to maintain an appropriate liquidity buffer through the winter, and also the ability to continue to invest in our strategy of growth.
Peter Fankhauser, Chief Executive Officer of Thomas Cook, said: "We have taken a number of prudent early steps to de-risk our business by taking out capacity in a challenging consumer environment. We have also taken the proactive step to approach our financing partners and are engaged in constructive discussions to ensure we have the flexibility and resources to continue investing behind our plans over the long-term."
We will provide an update on current trading on the publication of our H1 2019 interim results, due on 16 May 2019.

Fair enough im not sure about takeover at this point certainty not deramping but action into bell means drop in morning unless something changes. Now buyer might come again but right now looks like turk has finished and bonds are dropping. Either way hard to get a fair view with boards invested
Paul & illbetabuck
Please from everyone in this board, shut up.
If we knew the answers to that we would be rich ??
Who is to say he was not buying low , it could of been him that pushed it back up again and then again people took profits
It could be just people thinking they where getting on the gravy train this morning and trying to make a quick buck, and maybe NK brought none at all
It come be someone else that sees value in TC
maybe NK feels fosun has this stitched up with the BOD
Maybe another mamber of the kocker family ie serhet is buying
That’s the problem nobody knows
Sorry what that show me being dim?

So huge buys last night and this morning great... low volume drop clearly shorters but what i cant understand is the action near the end? Why didnt the turk keep buying at lower prices into the bell? Where is the tr1? If it wasnt the turk buying this morning who was it? Has the turk stopped and now its back down? If so why bothet buying 8%? Whats the play?
Yep I reckon another dip early then a rise beyond today’s close by the afternoon. All we need now is for another party to decide they want a chunk alongside Fosun and our new Turkish pal .... now that would liven things up :D
Oh to have 500k to lose
Anyone inc me who invested in Thomas cook should have known it was a risk with either huge rewards or huge losses. If you can’t afford to lose the money you should not invest
If there is a TR-1 notification, I will buy with a gigantic order as soon as market opens.
Illbetabuck, I didnt consider it gambling until I lost £500k on xcite energy and quindell
7.00am 7/8/19 a TR1 will be posted via LSE.
It will I form all that the Turk had ZERO shares in TCG.
It will add that the BOD of TCG will sleep easier tonight
Work hard and use your head, you should have a good standard of living. Dont then go and gamble it away if you cant afford to lose it. Quite simple really.
Equities are hardly the place to be then -- if you've made money, it's usually what someone else has lost.
Tyla As a human being, I like to see all human's make money and have comfortable living standard. Something called kindness, which some people forgit
Also, why should we feel for the people that bought at 15p? Obviously this is a very volatile stock and you are not investing because you think its a great company, you are gambling on other peoples misfortunes possibly, to buy shares cheap as in your mind, but now they have gone down, heaven forbid! Do we feel sorry for any other gamblers?
Thank you.
Tyla I think it stands for Transaction Report, I may b wrong and I m sure someone will correct me
you r so helpful
Its kind of way for the company to make annoucement - TR-1: Standard form for notification of major holdings
A fast car
What is a TR-1?
I guess no one can win with you haha
Unborrowable in shares is a good thing which means no one can borrow to short.
